For forms and eligibility dates
Use an exact-age or age-on-date calculator when a form asks how old someone is on a named cutoff. Most forms need the number of completed years on that date, supported by the calendar breakdown. An organization may still apply its own timezone, document, or February 29 policy, so confirm the governing rule before submitting the result.
- Record the reference date shown on the form.
- Check whether the rule means completed years or another unit.
- Keep the stated leap-day or cutoff policy with the result.
