Place a birth date inside its calendar
The Day of Birth Calculator answers “What day of the week was I born?” and then shows where that date sat within its year. Alongside Monday through Sunday, it reports the day of year, ISO week and week-year, quarter, month position, and whether the date fell on a weekend.
These are deterministic Gregorian calendar facts. The page does not attach personality traits, luck, or predictions to a weekday, and it cannot verify that the entered date came from an official birth record.
Reveal the calendar facts for one date
- Enter the full date you want to inspect; it can be a birthday or any historical event.
- Check the day, month, and year before calculating, especially when copying from a regional date format.
- Calculate and read the weekday first, then use the supporting facts for calendar context.
- Copy or download only if you intentionally want to keep or share the entered date.
ISO week-year can surprise you near New Year
ISO weeks begin on Monday, and week 1 is defined by a four-day rule. As a result, dates at the very start or end of a calendar year can belong to the adjacent ISO week-year. The result displays both values instead of assuming the numbers always match.
This affects calendar organization, not the weekday itself. A Tuesday remains Tuesday under the displayed Gregorian date.
Why weekdays do not repeat on a simple seven-year cycle
Common years shift the same date forward by one weekday, while leap years can shift later dates by two. The full Gregorian leap pattern means apparent short cycles eventually break. Direct calculation is safer than adding seven years repeatedly.
Useful contexts for a weekday lookup
Check a family story, annotate a timeline, plan an anniversary, label an archive, or compare historical dates. When documentary proof matters, use the issuing authority's record; this browser tool confirms calendar consistency only.
Day-of-year is helpful when ordering events across one year, while the quarter gives a broader January–March, April–June, July–September, or October–December grouping. These supporting labels describe the same date and do not change the weekday result.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about weekday arithmetic, ISO weeks, leap years, and historical-date checks.
What day of the week was I born?
Enter the full birth date and calculate. The primary result names the Gregorian weekday for that date.
How is the birth weekday calculated?
The date is resolved in the Gregorian calendar, whose leap-year and month-length rules determine its weekday position.
What is an ISO week-year?
It is the year assigned under ISO week numbering. Near New Year it can differ from the calendar year printed in the date.
Does the same date repeat its weekday every seven years?
Not reliably. Leap years change the shift, and the Gregorian calendar follows a longer repeating pattern.
Does my birth weekday determine personality?
No scientific personality conclusion follows from the weekday. This result is calendar information only.
Can the result prove my birth date?
No. It can confirm that an entered date had a given weekday, but verification requires an authorized record.
