Use time statistics to describe a timeline, not predict a life

Life statistics can translate a date into weeks, days, milestones, progress toward a target, or a playful planetary-age comparison. Those views can make long spans easier to understand, but they do not measure the quality of a life or predict health, success, retirement readiness, or longevity.

Start by deciding whether the question is retrospective, goal-based, policy-based, or purely educational. The result label identifies which parts are exact calendar arithmetic and which depend on a model or a user-chosen assumption.

Elapsed-life views are descriptive

A life calendar or days-lived total counts time between dates. It can show proportion within a user-selected horizon, but that horizon is not a forecast. Choose a neutral target when the purpose is journaling or planning, and avoid presenting a percentage as medical or actuarial evidence.

Retirement dates depend on rules outside the calculator

A chosen retirement age can be converted into a date and countdown. Eligibility for a pension, public benefit, workplace plan, tax treatment, or early withdrawal follows the current rules of the responsible program. Record the program and date checked, then verify the result with an official source or qualified adviser before making a financial decision.

  • Separate a personal target from a program eligibility date.
  • Review assumptions when policy or employment changes.
  • Do not treat remaining working days as guaranteed employment days.

Planetary ages compare orbital periods

An age on another planet divides elapsed Earth time by a selected orbital-period value. It is an educational comparison, not the age a human body would experience elsewhere. Results can vary slightly when a source uses a different orbital value or rounding convention, so the source and denominator belong with the number.
